Aquaforce gains CHAS accreditation

10 May 2016

As part of its ongoing commitment to continual improvement and the need for the highest health and safety standards in hydrodemolition, Aquaforce Jetting Ltd is now a CHAS accredited contractor.

CHAS (Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme) is a market leader for health and safety pre-qualification in the UK. The scheme allows contractors to show potential clients that they meet current health and safety standards and avoids repeatedly producing separate documentation for each client.

In order to qualify, Aquaforce’s health and safety management, documentation and processes were assessed against stringent criteria. The CHAS accreditation demonstrates the company’s health and safety competence and compliance with current regulations.

Participating in the CHAS scheme helps both suppliers and buyers. The main benefits include:

  • Suppliers show compliance with important parts of health and safety law (the core criteria described in the CDM regulations).
  • On achieving compliance a supplier is approved to work for all of CHAS' buyers.
  • CHAS gives guidance on any weaknesses in a supplier's safety management, including how they can improve.
  • Being a CHAS supplier or buyer saves both time and resources.
Aquaforce will undertake the annual CHAS assessment to show it is maintaining the high levels of health and safety required.

CHAS is a founder member and past Chair of Safety Schemes in Procurement – Competence Forum or SSIP. See for more information
